Is Volkswagen’s leaking problem normal?

Especially in humid areas, water condenses out of the air on the cooling coils inside your car where the Freon from your air conditioning compressor exchanges heat from the inside of your car and leaves you with a stream of cold air coming out of your vents. These coils are usually located up under the dash on the passenger side of the car – behind the glove box. This water has to go somewhere and you don’t want it dripping on your passenger’s feet, so they put a catch tray in there with a tube to the outside of the car, usually just near the back of the engine bay fairly close to the rear of the passenger side tire.
